Designed for radiotherapy applications, tungsten eye protection offers lower transmission compared to standard models, ensuring superior patient safety. Each device is delivered with two anodized aluminum caps (0.5 mm and 1 mm) to minimize electron backscatter. When placed superficially, the tungsten eye shields may also be used without a cap. The 2 mm model is recommended for 6 MeV treatments, while the 3 mm version is suited for 9 MeV. Use above 9 MeV is not advised. The choice between the 0.5 mm or 1 mm aluminum cap depends on the acceptable level of backscatter as determined by the user.
