The copper liner is an accessory for Capintec dose calibrators, designed to eliminate the variations in readings observed when measuring iodine-123.

I-123 emits, alongside its main gamma line, low-energy photons that are measured inconsistently by the ionisation chamber and skew the reading. The copper liner filters out this low-energy component, so that the chamber responds only to the useful emission and returns a stable, reproducible activity value.

It slides into the chamber well and receives a standard dipper, keeping the usual handling of vials and syringes unchanged.
