Anthropomorphic phantom reproducing the anatomy of the male pelvis, designed for prostate cancer treatment planning and for alignment in image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Its organs feature close-to-human density (HU) values, which facilitate training in CT and cone beam CT (CBCT) acquisition.
It reproduces the prostate, the bladder with simulated internal fluid, the seminal vesicles and the rectum, as well as the bony structures (L3, L4 and L5 lumbar vertebrae, pelvis and upper parts of the femurs). The resulting CT images offer realistic contrast and artifacts.
