Multi-Energy and Spectral CT Phantom

Phantom designed for the evaluation and characterization of multi-energy and spectral CT systems. Its modular construction combines a large elliptical body with a central head module, providing two clinically relevant geometries within a single platform.

A configurable set of tissue-equivalent and material-specific inserts makes it possible to assess the system response to a wide range of materials: water and adipose tissue, iodine solutions at several concentrations, iodine cores of different diameters, calcium solutions, and blood- and brain-equivalent materials. This supports material decomposition and differentiation, iodine quantification and performance assessment in multi-energy and spectral CT imaging.

Specifications

  • Elliptical body: 300 × 400 mm
  • Central Ø 200 mm head module integrated into the body
  • Three-section construction (55 mm per section, 165 mm total axial length) for easy handling
  • Table stand with adjustable legs, spirit level and screw mechanism clamping the three sections together
  • Inserts identified by unique machined end-face patterns (visual and automatic software recognition)

Configurable insert set:

  • Water and tissue: pure water (H₂O), adipose tissue, tissue-equivalent water
  • Iodine solutions: 0.2 · 0.5 · 1.0 · 2.0 · 5.0 · 10.0 · 15.0 · 20.0 mg/mL
  • Iodine cores (5.0 mg/mL): Ø 2 mm, Ø 5 mm, Ø 10 mm
  • Calcium: 0 · 5 · 10 · 20 · 50 · 100 · 200 · 300 mg/mL
  • Blood: v1 (ρe 1.10), v2 (ρe 1.07), v3 (ρe 1.03)
  • Blood + iodine: 2.0 mg/mL and 4.0 mg/mL
  • High-equivalency brain
  • Carrying case included
