The NEMA IEC NM Body Phantom provides accurate, standardized performance testing and calibration of PET and SPECT imaging systems in compliance with NEMA NU1, NU2 and IEC 61675-1/61675-2 standards.
Its elliptical torso-shaped cylinder replicates human anatomy and tissue characteristics, enabling reproducible, cross-platform image quality assessments.
This upgraded model features several design improvements for usability and precision:
- Cam-Lock IEC lid for quick access and leak-free filling,
- Press-fit lung cylinder ensuring aligned assembly,
- Relief port to minimize trapped air,
- Two 28 mm spheres for dual NEMA NU1/NU2 compliance,
- Lung Tissue-Mimicking Material (TMM) insert replacing messy polystyrene beads,
- Circumferential alignment mark for consistent setup,
- Labeled spheres for rapid identification.
The phantom is compatible with SNMMI PAT (Phantom Analysis Toolkit) software for automated image quality evaluation and performance assessment.
It is ideal for:
- routine and annual QA checks,
- acceptance and commissioning tests,
- protocol optimization and benchmarking,
- harmonization of image quality across multiple PET/SPECT systems.
