The Ranger is equipped with a halogen-quenched Geiger-Müller tube with a thin mica window (45 mm diameter) for excellent sensitivity. It measures dose rate, count rate, and accumulated counts, with user-selectable alarm thresholds and an adjustable timer.
Measurement units include µSv/h, mR/h, CPM, CPS, and total counts, covering wide ranges up to 1000 µSv/h and 350,000 CPM. Built-in efficiencies for common isotopes (Cs-137, Co-60, Sr-90, P-32, I-131, C-14, S-35, etc.) allow direct activity calculations in Bq and DPM.
The instrument features a large backlit LCD, audible beeper, count light, memory functions, and averaging modes. Connectivity is ensured through USB and optional Bluetooth BLE, supported by the free Observer software suite. Optional accessories include a wipe test plate and rugged protective boot.
