Bolus Bees Wax Pellets

The Bees Wax Pellets Bolus is a highly pliable material made from bleached beeswax, specifically designed for use in radiotherapy. In its solid state (around 25 °C), it features a density of 0.954 g/cc, allowing it to mimic soft tissues in terms of radiation attenuation.

Easy to handle: pellets soften quickly when immersed in hot water (less than one minute), becoming malleable enough to be applied directly against the patient's skin or into a mold (for example, a dental plaster mold). Once cooled, the bolus becomes rigid and durable, and can be reshaped by reheating if needed.
