Transparent Water-Equivalent Radiotherapy Bolus – ClearSight

Fully transparent polymer gel radiotherapy bolus. Unlike conventional mustard-yellow bolus materials, its crystal-clear transparency lets you see tattoos, positioning lasers and air gaps through the material, even in a dark treatment room, for faster and easier setups.

It is water-equivalent throughout the clinical range (Zeff/water ratio of 0.761 ± 0.02; surface dose versus water of -0.9 % ± 2.3 % for photons and 0.49 % ± 1.8 % for electrons), with a negligible change in depth-dose curves compared with water. It does not yellow under prolonged radiation exposure and can be layered for custom thickness while remaining transparent.

Practical and reusable: no gooey center, can be cut with scissors, no need to wrap in plastic, sticks to itself but not permanently (semi-sticky surface), and retains its stickiness after washing and drying. Non-sterile.
