Dynamic Heart & Lung Phantom (PH-48)

The PH-48 Dynamic Heart and Lung Phantom is an anthropomorphic thoracic phantom designed to realistically simulate respiratory and cardiac motion in computed tomography. It is intended for performance evaluation of CT scanners in respiratory and cardiac gating, dynamic CT, dosimetry, and radiotherapy planning applications.

The phantom realistically reproduces diaphragm motion, linear displacement and rotation of a pulmonary nodule, as well as systolic and diastolic motion of a simulated heart. Heart, diaphragm, and nodule motions are independent and can be synchronized using programmable respiratory and cardiac cycles (Synchoro mode).

The system includes a life-size thoracic torso, interchangeable elastic heart models with coronary arteries (including stenotic examples), a movable diaphragm block, a rotating tumor module, and a set of simulated pulmonary nodules.
Operation is performed via a dedicated touch tablet, allowing selection of respiratory and cardiac profiles, parameter adjustment, and storage of combined motion sequences.

The phantom supports ECG-gated CT acquisitions using ECG output plates that generate a simulated R-wave for cardiac synchronization.
