The CRC-55tW Dose Calibrator from Capintec combines the functionality of a CRC-55tR Dose Calibrator with an integrated well counter, enabling both activity measurement and wipe test counting within a single system.
The dose calibrator function is based on a high-pressure deep-well ionization chamber, a proven Capintec design capable of measuring activities up to 6 Ci of Tc-99m (250 GBq) with high reliability. The chamber features a plug-and-play design for ease of use and maintenance.
The well counter function is dedicated to wipe testing and low-activity measurements. It incorporates a high-sensitivity drilled-well NaI detector, capable of measuring activities as low as 1 nCi, with counting times as short as 6 seconds. A 256-channel multichannel analyzer (MCA) provides detailed spectral analysis with manual or automatic ROI selection.
The CRC-55tW supports user-definable wipe test protocols for work areas, patient areas, unrestricted areas, and sealed source leak testing. Reporting functions allow archiving and searching of well counter data by date range, wipe type, and activity, supporting quality assurance and regulatory traceability.
All functions are controlled via an 8-inch VGA color touch screen with a menu-driven interface that is easy to learn and use in daily nuclear medicine practice.
