The RDS-80 is a digital pulse-rate handheld contamination meter developed for personnel who need to quickly detect and locate contaminated surfaces and objects. It supports standard surface contamination measurements in cps or Bq/cm², with automatic conversion to surface activity values.
The instrument includes visual and audible alarms, histogram storage in internal memory, and user-settable alarm levels. Data can be transferred to a PC via IrDA using the RDS-CSW configuration software, which also enables parameter setting, histogram readings, and nuclide calibration.
Its lightweight and rugged design make it easy to use in demanding environments such as nuclear medicine departments, nuclear power plants, industrial sites, and emergency response scenarios.
The use of configuration software (RDS-CSW ) is required for downloading the data into a PC via IrDA port.
